Welcome to the world of Hennessey G!

Hello and welcome to the Hennessey G Photography Blog! It has been hard work making the transition from the old blog to the new blogspace attached to my main website. I love the way the new site shows off my images and I hope you love it as well.

If you are new here, please allow me to introduce myself. I am Hennessey Green, a photographer local to the Washington D.C. area. Whoa! It feels great to say that because it has been a long and wonderful journey for me to become a photographer. Now I have always had a camera handy to document what was happening around me but it has been the last few years in which I've focused on making photography my second career. As I have grown in photography over the years, I have learned that a lot of my experiences can be defined by what I have immortalized behind the lens. If you were to ask, who is Hennessey, I will tell you that I am a dedicated husband, a coach of young men, a rock for my friends, an intense and hard working employee, and a lover of the photographic image.

The Production of the Time Machines

Freezing time.

Capturing the moment.

Being able to take a singular instant and documenting it for anyone to see for an extended period of time.

That is my photographic passion. To give the ability to go back in time, one photo at a time. I try to build those “Time Machines” whenever possible.

I’m fascinated to take pictures of anything that moves and most things that don’t. And I try to incorporate my photography into all parts of my life. That is why you will find photos of everything from Weddings to Dog Portraits on my site. I have spent a large portion of my life as a Lacrosse fan, player, and coach and you will find many lacrosse photos on my sight. I believe that it’s a beautiful sport to watch, play, and of course photograph. An instructor told me once that “everything has photographic value, it’s all in how you crop.” I have worked hard to incorporate this approach into my photography.

I have had many opportunities to travel and have spent significant time in Europe and had numerous trips to most of the major stops in the Caribbean, and yet I’ve found that most of your best photographs can be in your back yard.

I confidently say that my wife, Karen, and I are happily married and living in Fairfax, Virginia with our son Hayden. I am also a very proud alum of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!)
